UC Assistant Professor, Electronic Media

Hagit Limor serves as an Assistant Professor in the Electronic Media Division of the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, where she teaches news writing and production courses. Hagit also serves as a freelance investigative reporter after a long career at WCPO-TV and WXIX-TV. Her writing and reporting skills have garnered Hagit dozens of national, state and local awards including ten Emmy Awards, three national Sigma Delta Chi Awards, a National Headliner Award, two Broadcast Educators Association Best of Festival awards, national awards from the Association of Health Care Journalists and the Society of Environmental Journalists, plus state and local Associated Press and SPJ awards. Hagit is very active for the cause of journalism on a national level. She served as President of the national Society of Professional Journalists, representing more than 8,000 journalists across the United States. She currently chairs the Legal Defense Fund, aiding journalists fighting in court for access to public records. She serves on the executive committee of the national board of the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, which funds educational programs and grants for journalism-related projects, chairing its Programming Committee. Beyond journalism, Hagit volunteers extensively throughout the Tri-State, awarded by the Bethesda Foundation for her local service. She also emcees, speaks and hosts events for various community organizations.
