Northwestern University, School of Communication

Saunders Swan is currently a freshman at Northwestern University where she is studying for a double major in Radio, Television, and Film (RTVF) and Communication Studies (CS). Saunders previously attended Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio where she discovered her love of film over four years worth of video production courses with Ann Brinkmann.

During her Junior and Senior year of high school, Saunders acted as the Golden Lion Awards (GLA) co-chairman. She has also worked with aspiring film students and those interested in film production through local institutions, such as Ursuline Academy and The Underground.

Her films have been recognized as Finalists, Mountain Lion Award Winners, White Lion Award Winners, and Golden Lion Award Winners through the GLA in the following categories: Commercial, PSA, Music Video, Documentary, Narrative Film, Newscast, and Alternative. Saunders’s films have also been recognized on the national level at festivals such as the All American High School Film Festival, where her documentary was an Official Selection, as well as through organizations such as Melanoma No More, where her work was used promotionally.
